The First Responders found my Road ID

I have worn a Wrist ID Slim day in and day out for years -- so long, that I took it for granted. Accidents do a good job of making you appreciate the things you forget about.

I recently went for a solo training ride on roads that I frequent all the time. According to my Garmin, I was in the middle of a hard effort when theaccident happened. From what I've been told, a lady was grabbing her mail on a rural road when she heard a loud noise -- it was the sound of me going down! She rushed over to see what had happened and found me lying unconscious in the fetal position near my bike. She immediately called 911, the ambulance arrived, and I was taken to a nearby hospital. I had no traditional ID on me, but the First Responders knew to look at my wrist, where they found my Road ID.

My Mom was contacted and told about my accident, and she was on the next flight to Austin. Without my Road ID, who knows how long my friends and family would have not known about my accident. I was kept in a medically-induced coma for 3 days before being woken up. I remember nothing from my week-long hospital stay, but at least I wasn't alone.

Thanks for making a product that even when you forget about it, it doesn't forget about you.
