The Next Thing I Know, I'm in an Ambulance

I was recently on a 40 mile ride in Phoenix when I stopped to get a drink. The next thing I know, I'm in an ambulance on the way to the hospital. Because I was wearing my ROAD iD, my wife found out where I was very quickly—no panicked calls to the police, emergency staffs, or hospitals inquiring where I was. My wife does not know the courses I ride, so without my ROAD iD, she would not have known what happened until I was fully cognizant and coherent, which might have been hours later.

Having phone numbers to notify your loved ones is crucial. Needless to say, I wear my ROAD iD on every ride and every snowboard run. You never know when something might happen!
