I was in shock, and speaking German

I was running the Marine Corps Marathon this year and collapsed - without warning - in view of the finish line.  As it turns out, I had a severe heatstroke.  Unconscious for 20 minutes and afterwards very confused, I couldn't remember any English or even the phone number of my husband.  Very scary.  In shock I just spoke my mother language, German. Thanks to my Road ID, the medics were able to call my husband, who was just leaving Washington by train.  (After he saw me running at the 40k line he thought that, without doubt, I would finish under 3:50.)

Thankfully, everything turned out okay. I'm doing fine, and running again. My whole family runs with the Road ID now...no exceptions.
