Several weeks ago, having already done my long distance run for the day, I decided to go out again for a shorter run to take advantage of the beautiful weather. Unfortunately, on the route back home, I was struck by a car as I crossed the street (in the crosswalk).Fortunately, I did not lose consciousness and could answer all of the first responders questions. However, I was comforted having my Road ID tag on my shoe. The value of that tag cannot be understated. I suffered only a broken vertebra and fibula, but things could have been much worse.
