Police used my Road ID to call my family

I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart.  Because of my Road ID, the police and doctors were able to connect with my family and bring them to my side after a terrible accident.  I was riding my bike in California at the foothills of the Sierras, when I suddenly went down.
I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart.  Because of my Road ID, the police and doctors were able to connect with my family and bring them to my side after a terrible accident.  I was riding my bike in California at the foothills of the Sierras, when I suddenly went down.  I was unconscious, and still to this day, have little memory of the accident.  I was air lifted to a hospital after being found by a motorcyclist who notified the police.

The responders used my Road ID to call my wife, but her cell phone was out of range. They were, however, able to contact my family back east, also using my Road ID.  Ultimately the communication chain was formed and my wife was located.  In the mean time, my Road ID had enough basic information for the medical staff to get started on my treatment without delay.  My family was by my side awhile later. My wife, a doctor, was so impressed with my Road ID that she now wears one for hiking and running.
