No Brain - No Pain!

You're not going to freakin believe what happened to me yesterday!!!
You're not going to freakin believe what happened to me yesterday!!! I was on my daily lunch ride from the Fire Compound, here in Riverside. I was less than a 1/4 mile from work (in a residential area) when I thought I heard a car behind me. I looked to my left and back - no car. I look to my right and back - no car. As I turned my head back to the front; I rammed into the rear of a pickup truck at about 20 to 25 mph. Not much damage to my bike, but I was hurting pretty good. My right side was smashed (broke my middle finger at the knuckle) and I cracked a few ribs - not bad considering that had I been a little further to the right - I would have woken up in the hospital instead.

I sure am glad I was wearing my Road ID.
It feels good knowing I have that to wear! I was on the ground and unable to speak for about 5 minutes. A guy that stopped called 911 and used my Road ID to give them my information. Once I was able to speak, I took the phone and told them I was a fireman and would do a self assessment and would call back if I needed them. So you see, no one is free from injury. If it's your time to get hurt, it's your time!
