I am very thankful for my Road ID. Early one morning, coming home from my brother's, I started to feel very funny. The next thing I know, I am in the parking lot of a local high school, not knowing how I got there or how long it had been. I immediately called 911.
When the paramedics arrived,I was still very out of it and was struggling to communicate. Thankfully, I was wearing my FIXX ID, so I simply handed it to one of the paramedics. It was able to speak for me when I truly needed it to. They released me to go home about an hour later, but that did not prove to be the end of my troubles...
When I got home, my symptoms persisted, and I was immediately rushed to the ER. The medication I was currently taking was, for some reason, building up in my system and causing a high level of toxicity in my body. From the ER, I was soon rushed to the ICU, where I again utilized my Road ID. I showed the doctors my ID and it made everything go much smoother. Again, it was quite a relief to have it speak for me when I couldn't.
Thanks, Road ID. :D (big grin)
