My Road ID avoided delays in my treatment

I live on the beautiful, peaceful, quiet island of Crete, which is a part of Greece. Early one morning, on a particularly deserted stretch of road, I was knocked from my bike.
I live on the beautiful, peaceful, quiet island of Crete, which is a part of Greece. Early one morning, on a particularly deserted stretch of road, I was knocked from my bike. The ensuing crash resulted in many serious injuries. Fortunately, a passing motorist saw me lying on the side of the road and loaded me upin the back of his car. He took me to the nearest village and an ambulance was summoned.

The details on my Road ID were easily and immediately seen by the responders, enabling them to not only notify my wife, but to safely administer initial treatment to a patient who was still unable to communicate with them. I didn’t know at the time, but my head injury caused a degree of bleeding to the brain. I also sustained a fractured neck, four fractures to my facial bones, a fractured finger, six broken teeth, and numerous cuts and skin scrapes.

Without my Road ID, I’m sure the initial response to my treatment would have been substantially delayed.

Following a lengthy period of rehabilitation, I am now venturing out on my bike again. Should you ever find yourself in these parts, let me know and I’ll show you around.

Thanks, again.
