When I received my new FIXX ID, I immediately linked it to my Emergency Response Profile. Later that evening, I had severe chest pain and shortness of breath, so my husband called 911 and the ambulance arrived shortly thereafter. Even though he used to be a paramedic, due to the emergent situation, he couldn't remember what medications I was currently taking. The ambulance staff was able to access my medications and medical history very easily using my Road ID. Once at the ER, the doctors were also able to access my information using my Road ID. Because of my Road ID, decisions were made and medical care was administered more quickly. It was found that I have a hole in my heart, so I am thankful for my Road ID from the bottom of my "holey" heart!
