I went for a ride on trails near my house as I so often do. I’m not exactly sure what happened, but I definitely had an accident and hit my head. Fortunately, I was wearing my Road ID (and a helmet of course), as I always do. A woman found me dazed and confused, and called my wife after reading my wife's name and number on my ID.

My wife came immediately and took me to the emergency room. I had a major concussion, bruised ribs, broken thumb and plenty of scrapes and bruises. My wife has told me that when she reached me I didn’t recognize her, and continued repeating the same questions over and over again. I don’t remember a thing from the entire day until late in the evening in the ER when I finally regained some clarity.

What I do know is this - if it weren’t for the Road ID, the situation would have been substantially worse.
