I bought my first Road ID years ago after being hit by a rather large vehicle. My injuries were extensive with 8 shattered ribs, a punctured lung, bruising on the brain, fractured vertebrae, blood in my chest cavity, broken scapula, loads of orbital fractures, and I was in a coma for a week . I really shouldn’t have lived. It took the amazing emergency personnel two and half hours to identify my wife and call her. The accident helped me to realize that I could have died without her being able to say goodbye, and with that I immediately purchased a Road ID.My ID came in handy again recently when I fell off my bike. Doctors and nurses were impressed with the information engraved on the ID plate. It was HIGHLY useful in the situation it was designed for.
