Exciting changes are coming to your MyROADiD account!

Edward Wimmer here. In case you don’t know me, I co-founded ROAD iD (with my Dad) waaaayy back in the stone age of 1999. Back then, we were two dudes in a leaky basement with a couple of maxed-out credit cards and a dream to Save Lives, Provide Peace of Mind and Fuel Adventure.

Flash forward to 2006. After getting some great feedback from our customers, we launched MyROADiD and myroadid.com - a secure, online portal of information that can provide life-saving information in an emergency.

I’m buzzing with excitement because I have some really great news to share about your MyROADiD account.


But before I spill the beans, a colossal “thank you” is in order. You've been asking us to spruce up the MyROADiD experience. In the spirit of our Ear to the Ground, Eye to the Sky core value, we not only heard your recommendations, we took action.

So, what's the scoop, you wonder? Great question…

In just a few weeks, we are re-launching MyROADiD with a fresh new look and several new features. Here's what you can expect. 

  • Name Change: MyROADiD will now be called iD PROFILE. Not only do we think this name better explains the product, but it should also help clear up confusion between roadid.com and myroadid.com - two similar names with very different functions.
  • Domain Change: The web address is changing from myroadid.com to idprofile.com. Don’t worry, if you (or a First Responder) visits myroadid.com after the switch, we’ll automatically redirect you to idprofile.com.
  • Fresh New Look: We’ve modernized the portal and left that mid-2000s design aesthetic in the dust. We think you’re going to love it. 
  • Easier Navigation: We’ve made it easier for you to find what you're looking for.
  • Better Emergency Response: Your profile will remain accessible to First Responders via the online portal (soon to be idprofile.com) and via the phone number engraved on your ID. The telephone option is, however, getting an upgrade. Instead of having a First Responder clumsily chat back and forth with an agent, we’ll be able to immediately text them a link to your full and complete Profile. 
  • Better Messaging: Currently, we only send important notifications to your email inbox. We’re adding SMS (text) notifications so we can better alert you to significant events in your account. Example: If your profile is accessed, we’ll be able to notify you via email and text message.
  • Simpler Login: No more annoying passwords are needed to login. On the new system, you’ll simply key in your email address and we’ll send you a security code to complete login.


Common Questions

  • When is this happening? Our target is to launch the new platform mid-July 2024. 
  • What do I need to do? Almost nothing. We’re handling everything from this end. This said, AFTER the new site is live, it would be a great idea for you to log in to your account. During this initial login, we’ll update any missing information on your account. Example: If it hasn’t already been provided, we may ask for your phone number so we can send you critical account information via SMS. Stay tuned to your inbox for more information.
  • Has there been a change of ownership? Nope. Still us, just better - much better. 
  • Do I need to update my physical ID? No. The phone number,  website (myroadid.com), and your Serial and PIN (engraved on the back of your ID) will continue to  work as they always have.
  • Is the price changing? Nope. You can add as many Profiles to your account as you want…the price will still be just $19.99/year.


Most importantly, everything that I’ve shared above isn’t good news…it’s GREAT NEWS. We’re still providing the same great service and reassurance that you have known and loved over the years. It’s simply getting better.
