"It worked beautifully!"
A couple of weeks ago, I was hit by a car while riding my bike. I was stunned, disoriented, badly bruised and my poor bike was totaled. The accident, however, could have been much worse. When the woman at the accident scene asked me for my name and phone number, I simply handed her my shoe and sh...   - Joan F, Potomac, MD   Continue Reading

Giveaway Recap
We have good news and bad news. The bad news is that you missed out on our July Giveaway which ended on July 31st. The good news is that we are always running cool promotions and we will surely hold another one very soon. AND, I am pretty sure that you will probably win it.

So, what was the hullabaloo about with this July Giveaway? Well here are the knitty gritty facts and figures for you.

1. The Who & What: The July Giveaway gave our awesome Road ID customers and fans a chance to win two amazing prize packages (below) with sweet prizes from Trek, HED Cycling, Garmin, Giro, Oakley and Newton.

2. That’s All I Had To Do: With four simple ways to enter it was hard for anyone (other than you maybe) to find a reason not to enter. All you had to do was: A. follow Road ID on Twitter; B. follow Road ID on Facebook; C. make a $5 donation to one of our 12 “Road ID Gives Back” charities, or D. make a $20 Road ID purchase.

3. We Raised Big Money: As a result of the incredible generosity of our customers and social media friends, we are thrilled to tell you that we reached our goal and raised over $50,000 for charity in just one month. Please, somebody high-five me, quick!! The top 3 beneficiaries from the promotion were: Susan G. Komen (Race for the Cure): $3,520, Wounded Warrior Project: $9,625, Lance Armstrong Foundation (LIVESTRONG): $17,563.

4. We Gave Away Signed Jerseys: In addition to our two grand prize packages we sweetened the pot to encourage more donations by giving away two cycling jerseys signed by Levi Leipheimer, Chris Horner, Bob Roll, Phil Liggett, Paul Sherwen, and Craig Hummer.

5. People Said What: Our top charity donor and signed jersey recipient, Dan J. of McLean, VA had this to say about his donation, “My wife and I make a conscious effort to give a fixed portion of our income to charity each year. The bulk of our giving tends to go to ‘big’ charities like Doctors Without Borders or Catholic Charities. But your contest brought my attention to these (other) worthy organizations.” And went on to state, “On a less noble note, the prospect of winning a Madone, or even the signed jersey, made this attractive …(and) my award jersey is now hanging over my desk at my office!” he concluded.

To be sure you don’t miss the next one, and to stay up to date on all of our fun offerings and witty banter, be sure to follow us on Twitter and Facebook! And since you are already here, take a look around and see if you can’t find something nice for yourself.

FAQ:
What are the prizes and prize packages?
It doesn't make sense to enter a giveaway unless you like the prizes being offered. There are two prize packages consisting of one Grand Prize and one Runner-up Prize. More lust-inducing, drool-producing details are below; just scroll down, you'll see it.
Why are you doing this?
The best reason ever: we love our customers. Ok, that and we like to see people clamoring over each other to get high-end outdoor fitness gear, selling out their friends and family to get whatever edge possible.
Is there a limit to the number of entries I can earn?
Nope. So, feel free to increase your chances of winning by entering in all 4 ways. We especially encourage you to rack up the entries by using option #1 and donating to our Road ID-supported charities. Shopping online at Road ID isn't half bad either (see option #4).
What if I already follow you on Twitter and/or am already a fan on Facebook?
Well, my friend, you have already been automatically entered to win. Lucky you. Now get cracking on those additional entries.
How do I become your Facebook Fan?
It's easy. To become a fan, click the "Like" button at the top of the Road ID Facebook page. Don't forget to post that status update on your wall, though.
When will the drawing take place?
The random drawing will take place on or around August 4, 2010. The winners will be notified by August 8, 2010. We will also announce the winners via our Twitter & Facebook accounts, making the winners instantly famous. The rest of you can hound them relentlessly in the hopes that they'll hand over some of those sweet prizes. Don't count on it though.
Where's the fine print?
Well, we're not big fans of fine print. The contest is as straightforward as we have outlined on this page. Our attorneys however, have, under the threat of making us sit through repeated meetings and conference calls, forced us to compile some legal speak. You can find the complete giveaway rules and regulations here.

Want even more information about each of these amazing prizes? We figured. Here it goes:

2011 Team RadioShack Replica Trek Madone 6.9SSL:
Hands down, the best ride in the world, designed for the best riders in the world. The Madone 6.9SSL is it, with Aeolus 5.0 Carbon wheels, Race XXX Lite components, and a full SRAM Red drivetrain. Trek tossed in tens of thousands of hours of R&D and endless feedback from test riders named Lance & Levi. Insert shiver here.

Garmin Forerunner® 310XT or Edge® 500 Garmin Forerunner® 310XT Garmin Edge® 500 Garmin Forerunner® 310XT Garmin Edge® 500
Garmin Forerunner® 310XT or Edge® 500:
Winners get a choice of one of two Garmin products to adorn their body or bike. Opt for the sporty Forerunner 310XT and you'll get distance, pace, and heart rate tracking as well as a wireless interface to your PC for post-training analysis. The Edge 500 GPS-based cycling computer is no slouch either, tracking location, distance, heart rate, speed, & elevation.

HED Ardennes Wheelset
Long known for their triathlon and time trial wheelsets, HED Cycling's Ardennes represent a turn towards dyed-in-the-wool road cycling performance. Light, stiff, and ready for polished roads and cobbled street, these babies boast HED's new extra wide C2 rim. When it comes to cornering and smooth ride quality, wider is indeed better. Way better.

LIVESTRONG Jawbone Sunglasses
Oakley does it again with the new Jawbone model, offered this time in LIVESTRONG yellow and black. You may have seen these on the face of a certain cyclist from Austin. Interchangeable lenses, water-resistant coating, and Oakley's proprietary high definition optics lenses make for a fine set of peeper-protectors.

Giro Ionos
The folks at Giro have done it again. The Ionos is the most ventilated and technologically advanced road cycling helmet they've ever offered. With a proprietary in-mold composite sub-frame, they've found enough strength to cut 21 of the largest vents ever carved into a helmet.

Newton Running Shoes
Winners get to choose model, color and size. Developed to mimic your natural barefoot running form. Run smoother, more efficiently, faster and with less injury. A revolutionary way of building a running shoe based on Sir Isaac Newton’s third law of motion — “For every ACTION, there is an equal and opposite REACTION.”

$200 Road ID Shopping Spree
It’s like winning the lottery. Friends and family you didn't even know you had will come out of the woodwork in hopes that you'll spread some of that new wealth around and buy them a new Road ID. What you do with your Road ID bucks is up to you, but the excitement of FREE money is oh-so-undeniable.

NO PURCHASE OR OBLIGATION NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. Open to anyone 18 years of age or older as of 06/28/10. Void where prohibited. Sweepstakes ends 7/31/10. For complete details on Non-Purchase Entries, see OFFICIAL RULES
