This one hit me. Wow!

We recently received this email…

Love what you do! I was found deceased on the road a few years back... cycle collision with a deer. A cardiologist found me. He resuscitated me, then called the first number on my ROAD iD. By the time I arrived at the ER, family and friends were waiting. Thank you..!! - Dennis

Upon reading this email, I found myself staring blankly at my computer screen. Pensive.

Emotional. Appreciative. Prayerful. The only word that came to mind was “Wow” - just “Wow.”

We receive loads of “ROAD iD Stories” from our amazing customers. Each one is massively appreciated. Every now and then one of these stories stops us in our tracks. This was one of those.

Thank you Dennis for sharing your story…it inspires us to keep pushing hard on our mission: To Save Lives, Deliver Peace of Mind, and Fuel Adventure.

LET’S GET DIGITAL

Since we’re talking about “mission,” ROAD iD has an insanely amazing App that does Real Time Location Sharing and Accident Sensing. Try it for free: Google Play | App Store

38,000 FEET! AY CARAMBA

On the topic of adventure, next week I’m headed to Switzerland to race the Swiss Epic - a 5 Day Mountain Bike Race covering 223 miles and 38,000+ feet of climbing. #nervous #wishmeluck. I’ll be sharing my adventure on Instagram (my handle is @edwardwimmer4) and would love it if you checked it out.

ANOTHER COOL APP

Miranda (one of our mind-bogglingly-cool customers) was recently featured in Bicycling Magazine. In addition to calling ROAD iD “must-have gear,” (she’s quite intelligent) she also gave a thumbs up to an app called Relive. It creates a video of your workout by merging your workout data, a map, and any photos you took along the way. I gave it a try while riding Mountain Bikes in Park City. Here is my first Relive video. It’s pretty bussin (pro dad tip: “bussin” is what the kids are saying).

THE ROAD LESS STUPID

…is the title of a book I’m currently reading. In this book, author Keith Cunningham references Darwin’s “survival of the fittest” and then explains what Darwin meant by “fittest.” I had never given it much thought…but assumed “fittest” was approximate to some combination of “smartest” and “strongest.” Wrong. Darwin intended it to mean “most adaptable.” This struck me as really cool as I constantly explain ROAD iD’s culture as Adaptable, Supportive, and Collaborative. Our team rocks…it’s truly an honor to work with them. If you want to join our team, we’re hiring.

WE DID A THING

We created a new brand…and it’s called DOG iD. You might be thinking…"hey genius, you guys have had DOG iD for many years." Well, you’d be right. Mostly. Last week, our baby brand grew up and got its very own website. If you’re looking for our famous pet products, you’ll no longer find them on roadid.com. Our lineup of remarkably awesome dog gear has a new dog house at dogid.com. It’s a work in progress…so let us know if you see any room for improvement.

That’s all for now folks. I’ll check back in with you soon. In the meantime, if you have a ROAD iD Story or a cool adventure to share, smash the reply button on this email and let us know.

I’ll be in touch,
