Because I was wearing my Road ID...
Thank you Road ID for allowing my family to be notified of my accident within minutes of my injury, rather than hours. This allowed the medical team to get valuable and timely medical history - which aided them in doing such a wonderful job on my medical care. Here’s my story: I had seen numerous ads in for the Road ID in running magazines. I finally decided to get one for my father and me as a Christmas gift. Both Road IDs carry the same scripture reference: Isaiah 40:31. My father is 73 and runs 6 days a week with the Enid Running Club in Enid Oklahoma.
A few weeks after Christmas, I was in training for the Austin Half Marathon. I had started running in a neighborhood behind my childrens’ school because it was flatter and the streets were less traveled. My plan was to run for an hour, and be back in time to pick up my son from basketball practice.
My next lucid memory, 16 days later, was my father leaning over my hospital bed telling me I had been hit by a truck while running! We determined that a truck ran a stop sign, hit me, ran over me, and dragged me down the street. The driver did not stop and I was left in the middle of a very busy thoroughfare. It took the EMTs only 7 minutes to get to me. I was in such bad shape that they simply put me on a board and started for the hospital.
The accident scene was 2 miles from my truck. I was running in a strange neighborhood; and my wife did not know what route I was running. Because I was wearing my Road ID, the hospital was able to contact my wife; and she was able to quickly get to the hospital. Without my Road ID, my wife would have been left to calling hospitals – after she realized that I was missing. Thanks to the RoadID my wife was at the hospital within the hour.
My injuries were extensive - broken neck, back, shoulder blade, pelvis, 20 fractured ribs, punctured lung, and numerous damaged ligaments. I received 11 units of blood the first night, had major organ failure, and was revived at least once. I was in ICU for 19 days and have pins and screws in my back and pelvis, but am thrilled to say that I left the hospital for home on February 22. My rehab is going well, I am now walking on both legs (with a walker), have begun working from home, and hope to be brace free within a month. I give God the credit for my recovery and the how in spite of my injuries, none are permanent.

Road ID could very well save your life one day…
This past week, I was struck from behind by an SUV while I was on my bike. I was violently thrown from my bike, striking my head against the pavement, which knocked me unconscious for at least an hour. I was wearing my Ankle ID, which allowed a witness to contact my wife and friend to let them know what happened to me. ...Without my Road ID, it would have been hours, if not much longer, before my wife would have heard from me.
Today, I am bruised and very sore, but I love my Road ID even more. I have always been a huge fan as a runner and cyclist, but I never thought I would actually need it.
If you are a runner or a cyclist, you need Road ID … no kidding. It could very well save your life one day, or at least let your loved ones know where you are in the event of an emergency.
Thanks again from a true fan.

They were able to ID me and call my wife
I want to thank you personally for such an amazing product. I have been using Road ID since 2002, and I always used to ask myself why I wore an ID when nothing had happened. Well, yesterday, things changed. I left home at 5:30 am for an 80 mile bike ride, and the last thing I remember is passing a mile marker. The next... thing I know I am in an ambulance. I then passed out again and woke up in the ER with a doctor asking me if I can hear her.
The emergency personnel later told me that I had an accident and that someone had called 911 when they found me. They used my Road ID to identify me, call my wife, and get me the help I needed.
Since the accident, I am doing well, but I am still suffering the aftermath of a severe concussion, and I cannot remember much of what happened. I am just lucky that I had my Road ID on my wrist. I cannot wait to get back into training as my next race is in 4 weeks, but I can assure you that I will be wearing a good helmet, and I will never question whether or not I should wear my Road ID.
Thanks, again.

Help was made much easier thanks to my Road ID
I was recently involved in a single-vehicle, rollover car accident. When my car finally settled on its tires, I had lost consciousness due to head trauma. A woman pulled over to help me and saw my Road ID. It listed my name, birth year, my mother's number as my emergency contact, my allergies, medical conditions, and... "Proud Mama of Ian" on the bottom line. She immediately called my mother and checked the backseat for my child (who was safely strapped into his car seat without a scratch on him). She also called 911 and was able to inform the First Responders of my name and my severe allergy to Morphine.
The woman later contacted me to see how I was doing, and she told me how useful my Road ID had been. Without my Road ID, there is no guarantee that I wouldn't have been wrongfully medicated, my family wouldn't have known I had been in a serious car accident, and my 16 month old son may not have been found in the backseat until much later. I am very thankful for the help I was given, which was made much easier thanks to my Road ID.

My 12 year old son collapsed at the finish line…
Thank you for a great product. We are loyal fans. I have them on all my kids and my parents. At a local race recently, my 12 year old son collapsed at the finish line after finishing 2nd. The EMTs scooped him up, and while checking his pulse said, "Great! He's wearing a Road ID. We can give his mom a call." Fortunately,... he was fine and just needed a few minutes to find his legs again, but it gives me peace of mind to know that at these races, with thousands of people, if my kids need help out on the course, someone can always find me quickly.
Thanks, again.

My Road ID helped the paramedics save my life…
One day recently, I was at the local doctor’s office for a minor ear issue. Their records reported that I have a severe allergy to Penicillin, and I even discussed it with the doctor to determine what antibiotics I would need. Later, I took a dosage on my way home after I picked it up from the pharmacy.... I wasn't home for more than 15 or 20 minutes when I realized I was having an allergic reaction to the medicine. I immediately dialed 911.
When the paramedics arrived, I was not doing well. I was having severe issues, but they recognized my Road ID and knew straight away -- even without words -- what was going on. My Road ID allowed them to quickly begin administering shots to counteract the allergic reaction. I was rushed to the ER and stabilized over the next couple of hours. In the end, my ID helped the paramedics and ER team save my life.
I think your service is amazing. Thank you for helping keep me safe. Please tell your entire staff thank you from me.
Sincerely, your forever faithful customer.
