It was my Road ID that spoke for me
It was a normal Tuesday when I headed out on a 30 mile bike ride. Little did I know, it would be 13 days before I returned home. Although I was told I didn't lose consciousness, I remember nothing about the accident. Apparently I took a hard fall on my left side. Suffering with a fractured pelvis, four cracked ribs, a bruised lung, a dislocated shoulder and a concussion...it was my Road ID that spoke for me.
The first responders called my husband, and by the time he got to the hospital, the Trauma doctors had completed my full-body scans and knew what procedures I was facing. Without my Road ID, the hospital would have had to wait for my insurance information, and there is no telling how long I would have been a "Jane Doe".
My Road ID spoke for me when I couldn't, and for that I am thankful.
Update: I'm back riding again, up to 30 plus miles now...although slower than I'd like. It's been a long healing process. FYI, about 4 months after my accident, I stopped by the local fire station and met with one of my first responders to say thanks. He remembered my accident specifically because of my Road ID! You guys rock.

My Road ID truly saved me that day
I was recently at a local club’s time trial, and because I work at a fairly popular local shop, I knew at least half of the people there. They all knew me as “Bill from The Bike Lane”, but no one knew much else. During the race, two ladies that had been hiking walked out onto the road that was being used for the race. As I ...approached them, I said "on your left", and they turned with a look of "what do you want me to do?". I was approaching so fast that I asked them to just stay in place. They instead moved right, directly into my path. I swerved and was thrown from my bike into a nearby ditch. I ended up unconscious with lots of road rash and a broken color bone.
When the accident occurred, no one knew who to call or my medical history -- it was just “Bill” laying there unconscious. Luckily, someone was able to locate my Road ID, which contained my doctor’s number, who was able to provide some critical information. I tell everyone that comes in the shop the value of a Road ID and how it truly saved me that day.
Thanks, again!

We arrived to find a cyclist who had been hit
As an EMT, I ran a call recently for an individual who was struck by a car. We arrived to find a cyclist who had been hit and thrown about 50 feet from his bike. He had a head injury and could not answer many of my questions. The Road ID on his wrist, however, allowed us to retrieve all the necessary information. I have been ...meaning to get a Road ID for a while now because I am a cyclist as well, and after that call, I made it a priority to order my own in case I am the patient someday. Thanks for offering such a useful tool that will hopefully never be used.

Everyone at the hospital was very impressed
My Road ID came in handy for me this past week. I was riding in Asheville, NC with some buddies, and on the 3rd day, I went down hard and had to be taken away by ambulance. If it wasn't for my Road ID, they would have had a hard time gathering all my information. I was very fortunate to have it, and I wear it all the time.... Everyone at the hospital was very impressed.
Again, thank you for providing such a great product -- it worked just as it should. I cannot thank you enough.. Unfortunately, I'm off the bike for 6 weeks, but it could have been much worse.
Take care.

Road ID could very well save your life one day…
This past week, I was struck from behind by an SUV while I was on my bike. I was violently thrown from my bike, striking my head against the pavement, which knocked me unconscious for at least an hour. I was wearing my Ankle ID, which allowed a witness to contact my wife and friend to let them know what had happened to me. ...Without my Road ID, it would have been hours, if not much longer, before my wife would have heard from me.
Today, I am bruised and very sore, but I love my Road ID even more. I have always been a huge fan as a runner and cyclist, but I never thought I would actually need it.
If you are a runner or a cyclist, you need Road ID … no kidding. It could very well save your life one day, or at least let your loved ones know where you are in the event of an emergency.
Thanks again from a true fan.

They were able to ID me and call my wife
I want to thank you personally for such an amazing product. I have been using Road ID since 2002, and I always used to ask myself why I wore an ID when nothing had happened. Well, yesterday, things changed. I left home at 5:30 am for an 80 mile bike ride, and the last thing I remember is passing a mile marker. The next... thing I know I am in an ambulance. I then passed out again and woke up in the ER with a doctor asking me if I can hear her.
The emergency personnel later told me that I had an accident and that someone had called 911 when they found me. They used my Road ID to identify me, call my wife, and get me the help I needed.
Since the accident, I am doing well, but I am still suffering the aftermath of a severe concussion, and I cannot remember much of what happened. I am just lucky that I had my Road ID on my wrist. I cannot wait to get back into training as my next race is in 4 weeks, but I can assure you that I will be wearing a good helmet, and I will never question whether or not I should wear my Road ID.
Thanks, again.
